Why don't the new UltraWater filters come in a box, and where's the label?

When you purchase either an UltraWater Filter, a Fluoride/Arsenic Shield or a Sediment Filter for your ionizer, you'll notice that the filters do not come in any type of "box," but are only shrink-wrapped. Many customers are used to purchasing the older "blue" filters that came inside of a box, so there is a bit of confusion when it comes to the packaging of the new UltraWater filter line, and some customers believe that they are getting a "fake" or other alternate version of the filter.

All of the machines are made by Jupiter Science, which manufactures medical equipment company in Korea, among other things. The plating system and other parts are made by Emco Tech, which is a Japanese company. Combined they make what is known as the "Jupiter Science" brand of ionizers. They also make their own filters, which are the blue colored filters you may have purchased in the past (the ones that look like the .01M Biostone Ultra Filter).

Every country has an authorized importing company for the Jupiter Science machines. In the United States (as well as Canada, Mexico, Spain, etc) the main importing company is called 'AlkaViva' (which was recently changed from 'IonWays'). They are located in Reno, Nevada. They are in charge of all filters, machines and tech support & repairs in the United States - and all dealers (like SnyderHealth.com) purchase these products through them.

Because the filters from Jupiter Science are not sufficient to remove the heavy amount of contaminants found in American tap water, AlkaViva decided years ago to manufacturer their own replacement filters. The filter that was sold from 2008 to 2014 was the Biostone Plus filter (the "white" filter). Then, due to reports of pharmaceuticals being found in the tap water AlkaViva decided that the Biostone Plus filters were not good enough, and spent two years designing the new UltraWater Filter line.  The UltraWater filter removes more contaminants than any filter ever made for the Jupiter Science line of machines. As of April 2014, the Biostone Plus filters were discontinued, and only the UltraWater filter is being sold for "city-supplied" tap water. There are no more Biostone Plus filters, and there are no more regular .1M Biostone (the older blue type from Jupiter Science) filters. The UltraWater filter removes far more contaminants than those filters did, and there was no reason to sell an inferior filter.

AlkaViva manufacturers and assembles these filters themselves at their warehouse in Reno. The UltraWater filters do not have any kind of "packaging," except for shrink wrap. There are no boxes or other outer containers for the filters, much like the previous Biostone Plus filters, which also did not come in a box. You'll notice that there are instructions inside the shrink wrap. The filter itself has the name "AlkaViva" embossed into the side of the filter.

You'll notice that the filters will either come with a label (that may look different from the image on our web site), or may not have any label at all. That is because AlkaViva may change the label at their discretion, and they don't always warn their dealers of such changes. Therefore, we aren't always aware of changes to the label (or changes to the entire look of the filter), and therefore have not updated the web site to show the filter image with the new label on it. For that, we apologize. We always strive to present the most up-to-date images of the products. Sometimes, that is not always possible.

The UltraWater filters may not come with fancy packaging, but they are incredible filters that remove a tremendous variety of contaminants from the tap water. For more the lab report for the UltraWater filter, and for more information, visit https://www.snyderhealth.com/alkaviva-ultrawater-filters
