Add Essential Calcium Back Into Your Water
Use Between Your R.O. System And Your Ionizer

In areas where there are low levels of naturally occurring minerals, or after a reverse osmosis system, extra minerals and trace elements are needed.

Calcite is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate media. Calcite neutralizes low acidic pH conditions and re-mineralizes reverse osmosis water. These cartridges will make water less aggressive and many prefer the pleasant taste added to drinking water. The media is dissolved during filtration, thus the cartridge should be replaced prior to complete depletion. Intended for use outside of your water ionizer machine with an external filter housing.

Features

  • Naturally occurring material
  • Inexpensive solution for soft water
  • Slow reacting for controlled pH correction
  • Self-limiting
  • NSF standard 60 certified Calcite media

Does this filter go inside of my ionizer? No, this is an external filter that requires an external housing. You can find the housings for this filter here. How do I use this filter once I get the housing? The filter housing that you'll use for this filter has either 1/4" or 3/8" quick-connect tube connectors (depending on which machine you have). All you need to do is cut the hose that goes from your faucet diverter to your ionizer's water inlet port, cutting the hose at an appropriate place. Then, the part of the hose that is coming from the faucet diverter goes into the "input" of the housing, and the hose that is going to the water inlet of your ionizer connects to the "output" connector of the filter housing. The water then will travel through the remin cartridge, picking up essential minerals, and then go into your ionizer. Will the filter effect my water pressure going to the ionizer? There is no noticeable drop in water pressure when using this filter. Where does this filter go if I am using an R.O. system? If you are using this filter to add minerals back to an R.O. system, the filter housing will be added to the hose that goes from your R.O. tank to your ionizer. Is there a version of this filter that can be used inside of my ionizer? Yes, we carry a filter called a "Remin Max" filter which goes directly into your AlkaViva or Jupiter water ionizer (in the case where you are using an R.O. system). The Remin Max is made to fit only certain machines, so be sure to check the product details page for more info. How often do I need to change this filter? You would change this filter at the same time you change your ionizer's main filter - between 6-12 months. How do I know when the filter is used up? If you are using this filter with naturally soft water or inline with an R.O. system, then your ionizer will not function properly and you will not be able to obtain any decent alkaline pH levels if the remin filter is expired. If you test your water every 2-4 weeks, you will notice that your highest achievable pH level will begin to diminish. Once you can no longer get a ph level of 8 or higher, you'll know that this filter is expired (as no more minerals are left to add to the water). Which direction does this filter go into the housing? The filter has a specific shape that will only allow it to go into the housing in one direction. Be sure the rubber gasket and arrow on the filter are facing up towards the cap.
