Add Some Calcium To Your Ionized Water
These inserts are for the Jupiter Science, Emco Tech, IonWays and AlkaViva H2 Series water ionizers that have an optional mineral cartridge port. They are made from a vegan/vegetarian safe source and have added magnesium.
Useful for increasing pH where water is soft, lacking minerals or has a low pH. Also may be useful in cases of severe calcium deficiency. These inserts are usually not needed as typically there is plenty of calcium in most US water supplies.
Pack of two inserts
I have extremely soft water. Do I use these inserts to compensate?
No, the calcium inserts are for folks with only slightly soft water. If you have very soft water (water with practically no minerals) these inserts will not be sufficient. You will want to take a look at either the Remin Max Filter (internal) or the Calcium Remineralizer Pre-Filter Cartridge (external) which provides a much more sufficient amount of minerals for your ionizer to operate correctly.
Do I remove the rubber cap that is on the top of the insert?
When you are ready to use the calcium inserts you will remove the rubber cap from the insert before inserting into your calcium port. The rubber cap is there to keep in the small calcium beads during storage or shipment.
Will the calcium inserts give me nutritional calcium?
No, the inserts are really to give your ionizer what it needs, in the case of slightly soft water, to ensure the proper functionality of your ionizer. Nutritional calcium requires certain amino acids to be properly absorbed into the body, which these inserts do not have.
Can I use the calcium inserts if I have slightly hard to very hard water?
No, you would never use these inserts if your water is slightly hard or worse. You would only be adding to the potential problem of scale buildup inside your water ionizer. If you have slightly hard to moderately hard water, you will instead want to use the Scale Guard inserts.
How long should it take for all the calcium to dissolve and the basket be empty?
The beads inside the Calcium Cartridge Insert are actually calcium-coated porcelain, so the beads will never completely dissolve. Once the calcium insert has expired, you will still see the beads in the basket. Just remember to change the insert about once per every two weeks to ensure effectiveness.
