Removes All Water Borne Viral And Bacterial Contaminants!
The Jupiter Ionizer Protector™ Red-D Ultra submicron depth filtration filter uses a proprietary, patented, electro-adsorptive, ion exchange media technology capable of removing up to 99.99% of submicron pathogens, bacteria, viruses and cysts as well as removing or reducing chlorine, bromine, iodine, VOCs, PCBs and BPA, residual pharmaceuticals, organic acids, polysaccharides, proteins, and heavy metals.
This makes the Protector Red-D Ultra Filter the perfect filter to use with well-water and minimally treated municipally-supplied tap water. Includes a filter adapter stand and Vortex Channeling for improved performance.
DO NOT use this product with a contaminated or biologically unsafe water supply.
Electroadsorptive Technology
The Jupiter Ionizer Protector™ Red-D Ultra Filter media removes a wide range of submicron particulates, pathogens, trace pharmaceuticals and cellular debris with its naturally occurring electropositive charge. Protector™ Red-D Ultra is specifically engineered to have this charge field cover the entire depth and void volume of the media. By accomplishing submicron "filtration" with a charge field rather than with mechanical pores, Protector™ Red-D Ultra has a small fraction of the pressure drop and many times the flow rate as compared to ultrafiltration membranes having similar efficiency.
Powdered Activated Carbon
The Jupiter Ionizer Protector™ Red-D Ultra Filter also contains powdered activated carbon (PAC) with an average particle size of only 8 microns. Activated carbon at this particle size has a very high pore size to weight ratio which produces remarkably high dynamic adsorption. The filter uses no adhesives or binders to retain the carbon, therefore significantly more active sites remain available for adsorption of chlorine, iodine, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), disinfection by-products (DPBs) and organic acids from water.
Silver Impregnate Zeolite
Silver, in the form of silver impregnate zeolite, is also impregnated into the Protector™ Red-D Ultra Filter to ensure no bacteria can grow in the media. Because it is embedded into the filter media the silver does not leach into the water. It is important to note the distinction between nanosilver and the silver impregnate zeolite we use in the Protector™ Red-D Ultra Filter. Nanosilver is typically 25 nanometers in size and can freely move through the dermal layer and in between human cells. The Agion® silver impregnated zeolite we use has an average diameter of 2 micron (2000 nanometers) or approximately 100 times larger than nanosilver. This difference in size eliminates the possibility of the Agion® zeolite being considered to be nanoparticle. In addition, the Agion® product contains the silver internal to the zeolite. Silver is not available in a free form. This means the silver contained within the zeolite can only be released in the presence of other ions, taking the place of the silver in the zeolite. This method of ion exchange provides for controlled delivery.

Water flowing through a filter is able to "channel" around the carbon granules and avoid filtration. Water seeks the path of least resistance. When it flows through a bed of loose carbon granules, it can carve a channel where it can flow freely with little resistance. Water flowing through the channel does not come in contact with the filtration medium, thus resulting in poor performance and shorter filter life span.
The Jupiter Ionizer Protector™ Red-D Ultra Filter utilizes Vortex Channeling technology in both the inlet and outlet of the filter which forces the water to be evenly dispersed throughout the filter media. This results in a far greater amount of contact with the filtering media beds by avoiding channeling and increases the performance and life span of the filter.

Dean's Bottom Line: | Utilizing the latest electro-adsorptive, ion exchange media technology the Protector™ Red-D Ultra is capable of removing up to 99.99% of submicron pathogens, bacteria, viruses and cysts. This makes it one of the most effective well-water filters we have seen to date. Also containing powdered activated carbon, this filter will also work nicely with city-supplied water, but only if it has a minimum amount of treatment chemicals. |

I have an very old ionizer so I'm very happy that I can still buy filters for it. Hopefully you'll sell these for a long time. Just wish the filters were a bit cheaper.
