To make it possible to ionize "pure" water, it is now possible to add a healthy blend of inorganic and organic forms of calcium & magnesium carbonates and other trace elements to the water before ionization. This filter fits directly into your water ionizer (see list of models) and can be used in conjunction with a Reverse Osmosis System, soft tap water, or our Bottled Water Dispensing System.
The Jupiter Ionizer Remineralizing Filter contains slow disolving Calcor (a blend of calcite and Corosex®), KDF55 media and Spartan catalytic carbon. Includes filter adapter stand. DO NOT use this product with a contaminated or biologically unsafe water supply.
Calcor
Our Remineralizing Filters are designed with a blend of Corosex® and calcite. The basic benefit of using Corosex® is that it dissolves much faster than calcite. If the initial pH is less than 6.0, calcite alone does not dissolve fast enough to correct pH to neutral. Blending the products, allows the pH to be corrected over a more effective range. This specific blend helps to create a balanced product that will deliver a natural effluent without the negative impact of over correction.
The water treatment industry has been using a compound called KDF for decades. KDF is by far the most widely used heavy metal reducing media in the US. KDF Fluid Treatment's unique combination of copper and zinc (Redox) creates an electro-chemical reaction. During this reaction, electrons are transferred between molecules, and new elements are created. Some harmful contaminants are changed into harmless components. Some heavy metals such as copper, lead, mercury and others, react to the medium's surface, thus being effectively removed from the water supply. Water flowing through a filter is able to "channel" around the carbon granules and avoid filtration. Water seeks the path of least resistance. When it flows through a bed of loose carbon granules, it can carve a channel where it can flow freely with little resistance. Water flowing through the channel does not come in contact with the filtration medium, thus resulting in poor performance and shorter filter life span.
The Jupiter Ionizer Remineralizing Filter utilizes Vortex Channeling technology in both the inlet and outlet of the filter which forces the water to be evenly dispersed throughout the filter media. This results in a far greater amount of contact with the filtering media beds by avoiding channeling and increases the performance and life span of the filter.

What is the source of the minerals in the filter?
The minerals in the Remineralizing Filter come from a proprietary blend of minerals called "Calcor" (a mixture of calcite and corosex), and is vegan/vegetarian safe.
What's the difference between this filter and the Calcium Remineralizer Pre-Filter Cartridge?
The Jupiter Ionizer Remineralizing Filter installs directly inside your water ionizer, while the Calcium Remineralizer Pre-Filter Cartridge requires an external housing and goes outiside of your water ionizer (water ionizer not required).
How do I know when my filter needs to be replaced?
All machines that use this filter have either a digital numeric readout or a progressive bar indicator. When the numeric readout reaches 9999 (or 999 on 3-digit readouts) or if all of the filter bars are lit up, generally a filter light will begin to blink letting you know that you've reached the maximum capacity of the filter. This can also be accompanied by the ionizer playing a constant tune. This can happen anywhere between 6 to 12 months, depending on the amount of water your family uses. When that occurs, it's time to change the filter. Also, you should change the filter at least every 12 months, whether the filter use light is blinking or not. Also, if your ionizer is no longer producing a high pH level, chances are the media inside the Remineralizing Filter has been depleted.
Do I need a filter adapter to fit this filter into my water ionizer?
Many water ionizers require a filter adapter to insert this filter into the machine. This filter comes with its own adapter stand that will take the place of any older-style adapter that may have come with your water ionizer. For those ionizers that do not use any filter adapters, you will need to remove the included filter adapter stand before inserting this filter into your ionizer. Connected my ionizer to my ro system and I couldn't get good ph levels. Dean suggested getting this filter. My water is back to being at high alkaline levels again. Very happy!Would you recommend this product to a friend? Definitely
